Growing up, we played hockey wherever we could. On the street, in the garage, even in the hallway, until someone told us to take it outside. If we had a stick, a ball, and a bit of space, we were happy.
We could spend hours trying to pull off a move or challenging each other to do something new. We wanted to get better, of course. But mostly, we just wanted to keep playing.
That's the feeling behind Hockey Beats.
Years later, we started wondering what we could build for kids who love hockey as much as we did. Something they could play at home, with the stick already sitting by their door. Something that would make them want to pick it up again tomorrow.
So we created Hockey Beats - a game you play with your real stick and ball. You follow the action on screen, react to each challenge, and try to beat your score. Along the way, you're putting in time with the ball, learning to control it, and getting more comfortable with your stick.
We're building a series of games around that idea. There should be room for a quick game before dinner, a competition between teammates, or an afternoon spent trying to beat a friend's record. Those moments add up, especially when you keep coming back because you enjoy them.
We're still early in the journey, and every new player means a lot to us. We love hearing where people play, who holds the highest score in their family, and how coaches use Hockey Beats with their teams. It helps us see what's working and what we can make better.
Our hope is that Hockey Beats becomes part of how people enjoy hockey together - sharing scores, finding rivals, and encouraging each other to improve.
We started with something we would have loved as kids. Now we get to build it for the next ones.
Come play.
